Muslims leading miserable lives in India: Azam Khan

Lucknow, Aug 27 (ANI): Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, stirred another controversy on Wednesday by saying Muslims in India are living in fear. Khan was addressing a gathering of Hajj pilgrims in Lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav flagged off the first batch of Hajj pilgrims from the state. Wishing the pilgrims a safe journey, Khan expressed concern over their well-being, saying he hopes and prays no one is harmed by 'love jihad'. Khan also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he does not want peace and harmony in the country. Meanwhile, Khan also blamed the central government for the riots in northern cities of Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar. Khan's statement came on the anniversary of the Muzaffarnagar riots where more than 62 people were killed and thousands displaced after killing of two brothers in Kaval village on August 27, 2013. New Delhi, Aug 26 (ANI): Muzaffarnagar riots accused Sangeet Som has been granted Z-plus security following an intelligence input about a threat to his life. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) decided to grant the security status to BJP MLA Som. The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to raise Som's security cover following intelligence reports of threat to his life. Britain Deputy PM Nick Clegg meets PM Narendra Modi and Jaitley on his 3-days India visit

New Delhi, Aug 25 (ANI): Britain's Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Monday. He also met Finance and Defence Minister Arun Jaitley following the same. Clegg is on a three days visit with an aim to bolster trade and strategic ties with India. His visit is intended to yield any immediate deals between the two governments, but is rather seen as the dawn of a long-term British strategy to focus relations with India on economic exchanges. Earlier, Clegg visited holy Sikh temple Bangla Sahib in the national capital. New Delhi, Aug 17 (ANI): A five-member committee on Sunday submitted its report on the causes of the communal violence in Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh last month to the state's Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
