Police detains Chinese national for intruding into Indian territory

Gorakhpur, Dec 12 (ANI): Police detained a Chinese national, who crossed into Indian territory from Nepal, in Gorakhpur city of Uttar Pradesh, said a senior official. Huang Jinjing, who had a 15-day tourist visa for Nepal, intruded into Indian side without any valid document. The police have registered a case against him. India, Nepal has a long porous border and it easy for anybody to sneak into each other region. Dec 12, 2014

Politicos on government removing section 309 from IPC

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): The Home Ministry on Wednesday informed Parliament that the government has decided to delete section 309 of the Indian Penal Code which criminalises attempt to suicide. The Centre also said that 18 states and four union territories have supported deleting Sec 309. The move was recommended by the Law Commission along with amendment of certain other sections of the CrPC and IPC in consultation with all stake holders. Many politicos backed the decision. Dalai Lama leaves for Rome to attend World Nobel laureates Summit

Kangra, Dec 09 (ANI): Tibetan spiritual leader the 14th Dalai Lama left for Rome to attend 14th World Summit of Nobel laureates, which was earlier scheduled in South Africa but cancelled in protest over denial of visa to him. The summit was suspended earlier in September after the South African government failed to issue a visa for the Dalai Lama who wanted to attend the summit in Cape Town. Tibetan PM in'exile Lobsang Sangay said Dalai Lama's participation sends as a positive message across the world for human rights and basic freedom. Tibetan administration is quite pleased that the Nobel laureates unanimously decided to move their conference to Rome with the participation of Dalai Lama. Dec 9, 2014
