One such example comes from Trehgam village near Kupwara district of north Kashmir where a 400-year-old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, a shrine of great Sufi saint Syed Ibrahim Bukhari and Grand mosque (Jamia Masjid) are situated in a row and a famous pond in front of them is the main source of water for almost half a dozen nearby villages. Artists pay tribute to Sufi singers at a musical event in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 23 (ANI): The Kashmir Music Club in collaboration with radio station Radio Kashmir organised a musical event to commemorate legendary Sufi musicians in Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar. The event was organized to commemorate long gone Kashmiri Sufi artists like Ghulam Ahmad Sofi, Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, Ghulam Qadir Langoo, Vijay Kumar Mallah and Padma Shri Awardee Gulam Ahmad Saznawaz. These artists were instrumental in promoting Sufi music in the state. Several Kashmiri artists, including poets, writers and singers, took to the stage to entertain the audience and educate them about Sufi music at the same time.
