Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag pays tribute to martyrs in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 6 (ANI): Indian Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag on Saturday paid tribute to martyrs who lost their lives in militant attacks that took place in Jammu and Kashmir. Suhag is also scheduled to take stock of the security situation in the state that was hit by terror attacks claiming the lives of 11 security personnel including a Lt Colonel. The Army Chief offered floral wreath to the martyrs and the Army personnel held the wreath laying ceremony in respect of the late jawans. Suhag's visit comes a day after the attacks and gun battles with security forces in Kashmir valley 21 people died in the attacks, including a top commander of Pakistan-based terror outfit LeT and seven militants. Acting on a tip off, police arrest a Maoist in Jharkhand

Palamu, Dec 04 (ANI): Police of Palamu district in Jharkhand arrested a hardcore Maoist and recovered a country made pistol, four cartridges, a motorcycle and a mobile phone from him. The arrested Maoist has been identified as Ajay Prasad alias Roshan, the Zonal Commander of Maoist outfit Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC). Superintendent of Police of Palamu, Mayur Patel, said that acting on a tip off, the district police dispatched a team acted to nab Prasad. Prasad is wanted in 10 cases of ransom, kidnapping and murder across Latehar, Garhwa and Palamu districts of Jharkhand. Patel added that Prasad was also involved in extortion activities of TPC-2. Police arrest hardcore Maoist in red corridor of Jharkhand

Giridih, Nov 30 (ANI): The state police arrested a hardcore Maoist and recovered explosives along with arms and ammunition in Jharkhand. Acting on a tip-off, the Giridih police sent a team to hunt the dreaded Maoist and nabbed him immediately. The Superintendent of Police (SP), Giridih, Kranti Kumar said that the nabbed Maoist had been identified as Dinesh Manjhi and was a hardcore leader and platoon commander of a Maoist organization in Jharkhand. The Maoist was pasting posters for boycotting the state elections. He had been involved in many Naxal incidents of Jharkhand. Explosives, materials for making bomb and arms have been obtained from the Maoist. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s. Dec 1, 2014
