Hike in aviation fuel price by 8.2 percent will increase fare by Rs 500 per passenger: Aviation Expe

New Delhi, March 01 (ANI): Aviation Expert Harshvardhan on Sunday said that the hike in aviation fuel price by 8.2 percent will increase fare by Rs 500 per passenger. He said that the increase in service tax of 2% also increases the fare and thereby the development will adversely affect the passengers. The government has hiked the price of aviation fuel by 8.2 percent. After the price revision, which came into effect from February 28 midnight, the aviation turbine fuel will cost Rs. 50,363 per litre per kilolitre in New Delhi. The price hike will also have a direct impact on the airfares as fuel costs account for about 40 percent of the airline's operating expenses. On Saturday, the Indian Oil Corporation Limited had also announced the hike in petrol and diesel prices, citing rise in international crude oil price and depreciation of rupee as the reasons. Defence firms showcase their capabilities at Indian aero show

The 10th edition of the international event is themed on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious 'Make in India' project in aerospace, defence, civil aviation, airport infrastructure and defence engineering. Countries like the U.S., Russia France and Israel are participating in the event and are acknowledging the nation's growing defence market and hope to contribute to the same. Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), OIS Advanced Technology Limited, NK Sharma, spoke about indigenous 3D radar systems, namely 3D Bird Detection, Tracking and Monitoring and Deterrence Radar System and Ground Surveillance Radar System. India to decide on Rafale fighter jet deal only after March

Bengaluru, Feb 18 (ANI): India will decide on the fate of a long-delayed deal for 126 Dassault Rafale fighter jets only after March, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said on Wednesday. While addressing a news conference on the first day of 'Aero India 2015', the five-day air show, Parrikar said that the ministry's Contract Negotiations Committee (CNC) should report back by early March. The tenth edition of the air show was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier in the day at Yelahanka air base.
