Panaji, Nov 28 (ANI): Giving updates about the Tehelka sexual assault case, Goa DIG OP Mishra said that the accused Tarun Tejpal failed to meet the 3:00 PM deadline to appear before the court and thereafter his plea for time extension for the same was rejected by the investigating officer (IO). Further, Mishra said that the time was given to Tejpal keeping in mind the time taken to travel from Delhi to Goa and that further investigations are carried on as per the law without any delay. Goa police summons Tarun Tejpal by 3 pm tomorrow

Mumbai/Goa /Jammu, Nov 27 (ANI): Goa DIG OP Mishra on Thursday informed that the investigative officer in the sexual assault case has asked Tehelka Editor-in-Chief Tarun Tejpal to appear before the Goa Police by Friday 3 pm. Meanwhile politicos and legal adviser have lashed out at Tarun Tejpal, who is accused of molesting a fellow journalist, for politicizing the entire sex scandal on Wednesday. In a matter of days, Tejpal switched his statements about the scandal. He had earlier apologized for the act and then switched to saying that the accusations were false. He also blamed the BJP for hatching the conspiracy. Deputy Chief Minister of Goa Francis D’Souza ridiculed Tejpal and said that the matter doesn’t have to do with any political party. Legal Adviser Shyam Keswani said that Tejpal is trying to escape the legal consequences by filing his bail petition in Delhi and not in Goa where the assault happened allegedly. Nov 27, 2013

Sexual assault case: Tejpal moves Delhi HC for anticipatory bail

New Delhi, Nov 26 (ANI): Tarun Tejpal, the recused editor-in-chief of Tehelka magazine, moved the Delhi High Court for anticipatory bail in connection with his role in a sexual assault case lodged against him in Goa. Justice G.S. Sistani, before whom the petition was placed, will hear the matter on Tuesday. Tejpal has also sought transit bail to approach the appropriate court in Goa. On Sunday, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Goa, O.P Mishra, said that the team of police has left from New Delhi after carrying out the first round of questioning in connection with the sexual assault case involving Tejpal, and added that the investigation is proceeding in the right direction.
