The 57th Annual Grammy Awards turned into the Sam Smith show as the British singer took three of the top four awards including record and song of the year. Singapore President inaugurates Peranakan Chinese exhibition in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 11 (ANI): President of Singapore, Tony Tan Keng Yam recentlt inaugurated the first ever exhibition on the Peranakan Chinese in New Delhi as part of his four-day visit to commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The exhibition titled "The Peranakan World - Cross-cultural Art of Singapore and the Straits of Malacca" glimpses into the life of the particular Chinese sect and will display an assortment of objects including diamond and gold jewellery, porcelain, furniture and beadwork, among others. He added it was appropriate that the exhibition was unveiled during the 50th anniversary of India-Singapore relations, stressing that India had a role in influencing Singaporean culture. The exhibition that is being hosted by the National Museum will remain open till March 25. Feb 11, 2015

President Mukherjee hosts banquet for Singaporean counterpart in New Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee hosted banquet for Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam and his wife Mary Tan at the Presidential Palace in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and various other dignitaries were present at the occasion. Tony Tan arrived in the national capital on Sunday on a four-day visit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Earlier in the day, the Singapore President was accorded with a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he met Mukherjee and Modi. Singapore President meets Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam met Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi on Monday. Yam arrived in national capital on Sunday on a four-day visit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. President Yam, who is accompanied by his wife Mary Tan, will also inaugurate an exhibition, "The Peranakan World: Cross-Cultural Art from Singapore and the Malacca Straits" at the national museum in New Delhi. As per media reports, Yam will also launch the Singapore-India Commemorative Book published by the Institute of South Asian Studies. Meanwhile, Yam and his wife also laid floral wreath at memorial of iconic freedom fighter, Mahatma Gandhi, at Rajghat. Feb 9, 2015
