Space X aiming for man on Mars in 2024

Elon Musks Space X is developing a interplanetary rocket and capsule with the ultimate goal of colonising Mars. The project has estimated development costs of $10bn (£7.7bn), but is aiming to be able to carry 100 passengers with cargo and fly every 26 months to Mars. Another of Musks aims is to bring costs down to an affordable level to attract volunteers, as he is hoping Space X tickets to Mars will eventually cost $100,000 (£77,000). Sep 28, 2016

Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan pledge $3bn towards curing all diseases

The two founders of the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative pledged more than $3 billion toward a plan to cure, prevent or manage all disease within our childrens lifetime. Investments will include a bioscience research centre, called the Biohub, and plans for a chip to diagnose diseases, continuous bloodstream monitoring and a map of cell types in the body.
