US President Donald Trump welcomed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to the White House on 13 February, the first meeting between the two leaders since Trump took office. Donald Trump has pledged to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement among Canada, the United States and Mexico. Colombias Marxist National Liberation Army (ELN) rebels began official peace talks with the government on 7 February, in a bid to end their part in a five-decade conflict. The ELN is hoping to get an agreement like that negotiated with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
