Suspension bridge collapse in Bali kills eight

Eight people, including three children, were killed and 34 injured whe a bridge connecting two small islands near the Indonesian holiday island of Bali collapsed. The bridge is the only crossing between the islands of Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Lembongan. Reports indicate that the bridge was overloaded due to a religious ceremony taking place at a nearby temple. While passing through Florida, Hurricane Matthew toppled trees and caused flooding in the streets and power cuts to more than 1 million households and businesses.While the storm has moved on towards Georgia and into South Carolina and North Carolina, Florida residents will now have to survey the damage done by the hurricane, that caused more than 900 deaths in Haiti. Baby humpback whale saves stranded mother off Brisbane Coast

A humpback whale calf saved its mother’s life after she became stranded on a sandbank. The whale had been stuck in shallow waters and could not move.The calf repeatedly nudged its mother in an attempt to free her. Luckily the whale could free itself after 40 minutes.The Parks and Wildlife service said it had a boat trailing the whales to ensure they could now make it out of the shallow waters and into the sea.
