Bijapur, Oct 4 (ANI): Two Maoists surrendered in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh due to discriminatory policies by the Naxal organization. The two rebels surrendered after they got to know about the rehabilitation programme for the Maoists and they were also awarded with rupees 10,000 each. The two Maoists have been identified as Yalam Samaiya and Dubba Kanhaiya and they were working for 10 years with a Maoist organization. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s. Oct 4, 2014

At least 32 people killed and many other injured in Patna stampede, probe underway

Patna, Oct 04 (ANI): At least 32 people were killed and manyothers injured in a major stampede in Patna city of Bihar during celebrations of Dussehra. The incident took place at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Eyewitness's said that chaos was created after an electric wire fell on the ground. According to reports, most of the deceased are women and children. The injured were immediately rushed to Patna Medical College Hospital. District Magistrate, Manish Verma confirmed the death toll and said that the injured were under treatment in the hospital. Meanwhile, locals blamed the absence of any lighting at the venue for the accident and also the police who they alleged had kept two of the four exits closed for the VIP movement. New Delhi, Oct 01 (ANI): Politicos on Wednesday expressed profound grief over the train accident near Gorakhpur. At least 14 people have died and 45 have been left seriously injured, after the Krishak Express hit the Lucknow-Barauni Express near Gorakhpur late on Tuesday night. Union Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of those who died in the tragedy, Rs 1 lakh each to those grievously injured and Rs 20,000 each to those who sustained less serious injuries. New Delhi, Sept 28 (ANI): Bollywood actor Salman Khan who is known for big heart and runs Being Human NGO has reportedly donated Rs.50 lakh for relief and rehabilitation of Jammu and Kashmir flood victims. A leading daily quoted a source close to the actor as saying, "Given that Salman does a lot of charity and he runs the NGO Being Human, it's not surprising that he has stepped up for a noble cause. What happened in Jammu and Kashmir was a big natural disaster and he wanted to lend a helping hand." This is not the first time when the actor came forward to fulfill his social responsibility.
