New Delhi, July 29 (ANI): Vice President Hamid Ansari and BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain and Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday offered prayers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and extended their greetings to the people. Vice president Ansari said that everyone should celebrate forgetting all the differences after the long days of Ramzan. Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that he pray for peace and unity in the country and everywhere in world where people faced violence during Eid. Guwahati, July 29 (ANI): Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi said the party was united and would meet expectations of people in upcoming by-elections in Assam state, denying any dissidence in the party. Speaking to mediapersons in Guwahati, Gogoi said the party must stand united in order to win the upcoming by-elections. The dissidence within the Assam unit of Congress party cropped up after its leaders demanded resignation of chief minister of the state, Tarun Gogoi over poll debacle in general elections held in May. Health Minister Himanta Biswas Sarma, and 33 other Congress party legislatures had resigned demanding a change in leadership. Israel resumes airstrikes as ceasefire fails

Kolkata/ Srinagar/ Gaza, July 16 (ANI): Israel resumed airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, six hours after agreeing to an Egyptian-proposed truce that failed to halt Hamas rocket attacks. For the first time in more than a week of fighting, an Israeli civilian was killed by a rocket fired from the Gaza strip. Hamas has claimed responsibility for launching the short-range rocket. The Israeli military says around 80 rockets have been fired at Israel since the Hamas armed wing rejected a ceasefire just hours ago. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that they'll intensify their offensive. The continuous killings have claimed more than 200 lives in the ongoing offensive. Meanwhile, Muslims across India staged a massive protest against the killing of innocent Palestine Muslims by the Israel military forces in Gaza. Members of Human Rights Protection Association (HRPA) organised a protest in front of Gandhi statue in Kolkata against the Gaza assault.
