It Happens: Colourful turban exhibition in Rajkot attracts visitors

Rajkot, May 23 (ANI): Visitors took a ride through history of turbans and also learnt how to tie it as they thronged a colourful exhibition in Rajkot city of Gujarat recently. Over 100 turbans of various shapes, colours and prints were put on display, which represented the rich culture of different Indian states. Kadambari Devi, member from Rajkot royal family, who also attended the exhibition, said she was happy with the way turbans from all over the country were displayed. Manipuri boy creates history by winning two gold medals at a badminton tournament in Denmark

Imphal, May 18 (ANI): 13-year-old Maisnam Meiraba Luwang has made India proud! A budding player from Imphal West district in Manipur, Meiraba recently won two international and one national championship in Badminton. Born to Meisnam Ramesh Luwang and Ratna Devi, Meiraba is the only international badminton player from Manipur. He is currently studying in class VIII. In the recently held "AROS CUP Youth International Badminton Tournament" 2014 in Denmark, Meiraba bagged championship medals in both Single and Double events. CPI (M) calls for re-polling in Kolkata

Kolkata, May 14 (ANI): Communist party of India (Marxist) accused the ruling Trinamool Congress of West Bengal of rigging the polls and calls for re-polling at various polling stations in Kolkata city. TMC leaders said on Monday that the media is hyping up a few minor clashes that took place during the last phase of polling between party supporters and the CPI (M) workers. Crude bombs were also hurled at the residence of BJP leader Meena Devi Purohit, in Kolkata city on Monday. However, the bombs did not explode. Hundreds of supporters and leaders of CPI (M) marched on the roads of Kolkata demanding re polling. Chhapra, April 12 (ANI): RJD leader Rabri Devi on Saturday filed nomination papers from Saran constituency of Bihar making her entry into general elections. Rabri Devi is likely to face a tough fight from BJP’s Rajiv Pratap Rudy. The confident Devi said that she was hopeful of her win from the constituency and the only competition she had to face was BJP Candidate Rudy.
