New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): On the day when the controversial monogrammed pinstripe suit which Prime Minister Narendra Modi wore during US President Barack Obama's visit, has reportedly been able to fetch at least Rs. 1 crore, the person who gifted Modi the suit said that PM Modi had already told him that he would auction the suit later. Ramesh Kumar Bhikabhai Virani said that he had gifted the suit to Modi on the occasion of his son's wedding. As per reports, the proceeds of the auction will go to the Namaami Gange Trust Fund for the Clean Ganga project. The auction will take place over three days. Feb 18, 2015

Authorities demolish temple built to worship PM Modi

Rajkot, Feb 13 (ANI): Local authorities in Gujarat have demolished the temple built to worship Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hundreds of Modi's followers in Rajkot donated funds for a temple that featured a seated statue of Modi and was topped with a wind gauge shaped like a lotus, the symbol of his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Earlier on Thursday Modi had said he was appalled that some of his supporters had built a temple to worship him, adding that such an act contradicted tradition. Modi's reaction had unnerved some of those involved in the temple project and one of the men who donated funds for temple building, Ramesh Undhad, had said the followers would now dedicate the temple to 'Mother India'. Rajkot, Feb 11 (ANI): People of Rajkot city thronged a temple dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The temple in Kothariya village is drawing supporters of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from neighbouring villages also. It took around two years to build the temple and initially had a photograph of Modi. It rose to prominence after Modis win in general elections last year. Ramesh Undhad, who donated funds for temple building, said it took nearly four years to get Modis idol made. Undhad added that fans considered Modi as second Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, one of Indias most looked-up statesmen. New Delhi, Jan 27 (ANI): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday held a road show in the South Delhi's Kalkaji Assembly constituency, as the campaigning for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections gathered momentum. Gandhi was seen accompanied by Congress unit of Delhi President Arvinder Singh Lovely, former MP Ramesh Kumar, Kalkaji candidate Subhash Chopra and nominees of a few other constituencies. The roadshow began from Transit Camp in Kalkaji Assembly constituency.
