AISA stage protest outside HRD Ministry over FYUP

New Delhi, June 23 (ANI): As students and parents remained worried over the admission in the under graduate course in the Delhi University following a tussle between the university and the UGC, teachers and unions staged protest against the HRD Ministry. Admissions to the undergraduate courses in the university are to commence from Tuesday, which now comes under confusion due to ongoing DU- UGC tussle. Members of All India Students Association (AISA) protested over the four-year undergraduate programme (FYUP) and demanded to reinstate three year graduation course. Reacting on the ongoing confusion among the colleges of the University, DUTA President Nandita Narain said that the Vice Chancellor is acting in total arbitrary manner and violating the norms and acts of UGC.

Tarun Gogoi objects relaxation of visa norms for Bangladeshis

Guwahati, June 21 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi on Saturday opposed the move of the BJP government regarding free visa entry for the Bangladeshi nationals. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had sought Assam opinion on the proposal of giving free visa entry to the Bangladeshis below 18 and above 65 years of age, to which Gogoi objected. He is also against proposal of multiple entry on a single visa to Bangladeshis which was put to improve relationships between both the countries.

UPSC aspirants protest outside Rajnath Singh's residence for age relaxation

New Delhi, June 20(ANI): Union Public Service Commission aspirants staged a protest on Friday outside the residence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh, demanding a four-year age relaxation in the examinations of these services. The protesters also demanded the removal of CSATs. Recently, the UPSC has effected major changes in norms of civil services examination and has given two more attempts for the aspirants. It has also given a relative age relaxations from this year onwards. There is, however, no restriction on number of attempts by a candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories.

New Delhi, June 16 (ANI): Union Minister of Food and Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan has opposed the claims of the Congress for the LOP position in the Lok Sabha, citing parliamentary guidelines and procedures. While the BJP said that the constitutional norms do not allow the Congress to claim for the LOP position, the Congress said that the central government may change laws according to the requirement. Road projects along China border to get fast-track approval from Environment Ministry

New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Environment, Forests and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar on Thursday said that a policy framework is being prepared by his Ministry through which norms would be eased for border roads along China and defence projects.
