AAP's Ashutosh says he's not surprised about extortion-tainted Shah heading new BJP team

New Delhi, Aug 16 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh today criticized Amit Shah and his new team, saying that the BJP president himself has charges of extortion against him. Earlier, Shah announced the names of his new team, which consists of eleven vice-presidents and eight general secretaries. The new BJP vice-presidents are Bandaru Dattatreya, B.S. Yeddyurappa, Satpal Malik, M.A. Naqvi, P. Ruppala, Prabhat Jha, Raghuvar Das, Kiran Maheswari, Renu Devi and Dinesh Sharma. The general secretaries are J.P. Nadda, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Muralidhar Rao, Ram Madhav, Saroj Pandey, Bhupendra Yadav, R S Kateria and Ram Lal. Anurag Thakur will continue to be Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) chief and the BJP Mahila Morcha chief will be Vijaya Rahatkar. Abdul Rashid Ansari will be the BJP's Minority Morcha chief. Commonwealth games medalists receive warm welcome in India

Agartala/ New Delhi, Aug 16 (ANI): 20- years –old Dipa Karmakar, a gymnast from Tripura has become the first Indian woman to win a medal at Commonwealth Games in gymnastic by winning a Bronze in Vault category. On her arrival in Agartala, she received a warm welcome by hundreds of her fans, relatives, sports lovers and well wishers. Dipa scored the highest in the second Vault with 15.100 to bring up her average to 14.366. Now, she is all set to play at Asian games in South Korea this September. Dipa and her coach Nandi were felicitated at Umakanta mini-stadium by Tripura’s Sports Minister Shahid Chowdhury. Meanwhile, Laishram Sarita Devi from Manipur, who bagged a silver medal in boxing, received a grand welcome on her arrival at Delhi airport. Imphal, Aug 13 (ANI): Indian medallists in the recently-concluded Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow were felicitated by the government of Manipur for their impressive show in the multi-sport event at a star-studded function recently. The cash incentive awards were distributed to the state's medallists at an event held at the Khuman Lampak indoor stadium in Imphal. India had sent 224-member contingent at 2014 Commonwealth Games Glasgow, which ended after 11 days of action across 17 sports. Nainital, Aug 03 (ANI): In a bid to empower women and make them independent, a state-run tea garden of Uttarakhand decided to raise women workforce in its tea gardens. The tea garden of Uttarakhand government in Ghorakhal region of Nainital district, employes mostly women, who do most of the work in the gardens, from plucking tea leaves, cutting branches to processing them in factory. A female worker, Jeewanti Devi, said salaries are given on time and they do not face any problems. There are 180 women employed in the government run plantations in the district.
