Yashodhara Raje Scindia underscores skill development for youth at Global Investors Summit

Indore, Oct 09 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Commerce and Industry Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia said at the Global Investors Summit that she will take steps for skill development of the youths and unemployed of the state so that they become self reliant. During a news conference at the Global Investors Summit, the minister said the regional government will ensure skill availability within the state. Barely weeks after Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, launched his 'Make in India' initiative, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, inaugurated a three-day Global Investors Summit on Wednesday, inviting business leaders from across the world to invest in the state. Scindia added that enhancing employment is one of the primary objectives of her government. She said she will also urge corporate houses to adopt industrial training institutes so that they can directly hire talent from there. Day one of the summit was dedicated to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). Scindia said the MSME sector demands special attention from the federal government.

Bottle crusher machine installed at railway station in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Oct 08 (ANI): As a part of recently launched 'Clean India Mission', railway authorities in Gujarat introduced hi-tech plastic bottle crushers where the plastic can be recycled and used again. In a bid to keep railway stations clean and recycle used plastic bottles, railway authorities in Ahmedabad installed the bottle crusher machine at a station. A ward assistant of Western Railways, Atul Tripathi, said this was the first time in India that such an initiative was undertaken. If proven a success, it would be further taken to other cities. The eco-friendly initiative will generate employment and also benefit railways, economically.

Skill development programmes help to generate employment for Kashmiri youth

Kathua, Oct 7 (ANI): Unemployed Kashmiri youth are being imparted with various technical trainings in a bid to explore their livelihood opportunities. 12 skill development programmes are running with as many as 100 unemployed youths being part of it. Project Officer, District Urban Development Agency, Zaffar Abbaz said that training to youths is being given by professionals in technical courses like welding, electronics, cutting tailoring, fashion designing and on computers, for a period of six months to one year. These training programmes are of free of cost and not just boys but even girls' participation was seen in large numbers. The youths who had completed six months training were also given multi-purpose tool kits and even a diploma. They can also start their own business and can also get financial aid from financial institutes.

Dialogue held in the Capital to explore opportunities for youth from North and Northeast region

New Delhi, Oct 06 (ANI): In a bid to include the youth in the policy making process with focus on exchanging opportunities between North and Northeast India, an interactive policy making competition and discussion programme was recently held at the Indian Habitat Center in New Delhi. Titled as "YOUth Decide: Exchanging opportunities in North India and North East India: Education-Employment-Entertainment', the youth dialogue programme was organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce with support from the Home Ministry, University express ,and several northeast organizations. The event witnessed the participation of northeast and north Indian students from colleges and youth organizations from different parts of the National Capital Region (NCR). The event was marked by sessions on the theme of "Integrating North East with North of India -Experiences and Way Forward".

Congress and NCP release manifesto for upcoming Maharashtra polls

Mumbai, Oct 02 (ANI): Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) released its manifesto for the state assembly elections on Thursday. Present during the event was also Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan among other party leaders. Same day also witnessed manifesto release by their ex-ally Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Congress releases its election manifesto in Haryana

Panchkula, Oct 1 (ANI): Congress on Wednesday released its election manifesto in Haryana for the October 15 polls and attempted to woo farmers, even as Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda promised to put the state on higher growth trajectory. The 23-page manifesto laid thrust on the sectors of agriculture and horticulture, irrigation, energy, industry, trade, commerce, FDI, health, employment, women empowerment, urban and rural development and education. The document even mentioned about construction of a separate High Court for Haryana in Chandigarh and also about resuming mining once approval is given from Environment Department. The manifesto was released at Panchkula jointly by Hooda and other Congress dignitaries.

Construction work for Lucknow Metro begins, Akhilesh Yadav aims to complete project by 2016

Lucknow, Sep 27 (ANI): The UP government on Saturday officially commenced the Lucknow Metro project. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav while speaking at the Bhoomi Pujan said that efforts will be made to complete the project before the next state assembly election which will be held in 2016. He added that there is no other state in which the metro project is being carried out simultaneously at three different places. He also said that on completion of Lucknow Metro Rail Project (LMRP) employment will be created and the city will become a better place.
