Meerut, Feb 11 (ANI): The 2015 cricket World Cup starts in New Zealand and Australia on February 14 with rivals Pakistan and India playing against each other on Sunday (February 15). At the sprawling factory complex of Sanspareils Greenlands (SG) in Meerut, some 80 kilometres north-east of New Delhi, hundreds of workers are hunched over their machines, busy cutting, sewing and shaping cricket balls to meet the scaled up demand ahead of the World Cup. Shop floors at family businesses like SG, which have traditionally dominated the cricket gear manufacturing for generations in India, are buzzing with activity before the start of the four-yearly tournament. Dozens of workers cut, glue, sand and bend hundreds of bats every day to the exact specifications of international superstars, who rely on their decades-old techniques. Feb 11, 2015

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): A day before Delhi assembly election results, residents in two constituencies of the national capital had to vote again on Monday due to fault in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). As per media reports, voters in Delhi Cantonment and Rohtas Nagar constituencies were notified about re-polling on Sunday, after election officials found that EVMs still contained the mock votes, which were polled to check the machines. The government has declared a paid holiday in both the constituencies. However, few voters faced inconvenience and said there were no proper arrangements to keep their phones and belongings. Delhi Elections: Polling underway for 70 assembly seats

New Delhi, Feb 07 (ANI): Voting for 70 Assembly seats began on Saturday morning in the national capital. Over 1.33 crore voters will seal the fate of 673 candidates in the fray for the Delhi Assembly elections. Polling is taking place at 12,177 polling stations, of which 714 have been identified as "critical" and 191 have been identified as "highly critical". The number of women candidates has lowered to 63 in this election as against 71 in 2013 elections. 16,000 control and units 20,000 ballot units are being used for polling. As for security inside polling booths, 1,200 micro observers are keeping an eye over the entire procedure. New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): BJP on Thursday react and said that 'AAP is making allegations in nervousness' of getting defeated in Delhi Assembly polls after Election Commission dismissed Arvind Kejriwal's apprehensions on EVM tampering. The poll panel on Wednesday night rejected Kejriwal's claim that electronic voting machines (EVMs) can be tampered to favour BJP in the Delhi Assembly polls. The EC said such allegations are "totally incorrect and unacceptable". Kejriwal had claimed on Tuesday that discrepancies were found during a check of four such machines at Delhi Cantonment area.
