Big Lebowski house: Inside the architectural artwork

The owner of a luxury house featured most notably in the 1998 film comedy The Big Lebowski, is donating it to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) with the hope that people will build more architecturally creative homes. James Goldstein, owner of the Sheats Goldstein residence nestled in the hills above Los Angeles, has promised to leave the unique building, along with its gardens, art pieces and his fashion collection, to the museum so that it will one day be open to the public. Aaron Hadlow wins King of the Air 2016 windsurfing title

Aaron Hadlow of Great Britain retained his King of the Air kitesurfing title in dramatic style in Cape Town, South Africa on 7 February. Huge waves and strong winds made for a superb spectacle in front of 13,000 spectators on the Big Bay beach, with Hadlows precision impressing the judges to put him ahead of Jesse Richman of the United States and Kevin Langeree of the Netherlands. The Dutchman had some compensation for his third place by taking the competitions Mystic Best Move with his kiteloop front roll inverted one foot in the semi-final. Feb 9, 2016

Chinese New Year: Conservationists hope Year of the Monkey brings the species luck

Conservationists around the world are hoping that the Year of the Monkey will put the spotlight on the threat to primates worldwide and especially in Asia. Primate populations in Asia and particularly China are coming under increasing pressure from humans who hunt them for food, traditional medicine, for the pet trade and are destroying their natural habitat. World renowned primatologist, Dr Jane Goodall said she hoped the Year of the Monkey would bring the species luck. Feb 5, 2016
