Govt should have guts to take up the case of boxer Sarita Devi at highest level: Congress

New Delhi, Oct 22 (ANI): Congress leader Ajay Maken on Wednesday said that the Indian boxing federation and the sports ministry should have the guts to take the case of boxer Sarita Devi at the highest level. He added that the entire country should stand up with the Boxer and her coach. AIBA on Wednesday provisionally suspended Boxer Laishram Sarita Devi for refusing to accept the bronze medal at the Asian Games podium ceremony. Her coach GS Sandhu, Blas Iglesias Fernandez and Sagar Mal Dhayal as well as Indian chef-de-mission AJ Sumariwalla were also suspended by the AIBA. AIBA said that it will not allow any of them to participate at all levels of various competitions, events and meetings until further notice. Boxer Sarita Devi, while protesting against a controversial verdict, had refused to wear the bronze medal on the podium during the ceremony for the 57-60 kg category. Visitors flock Jim Corbett National Park as it reopens post Monsoon

Ramnagar, Oct 15 (ANI): Visitors flocked to see tigers roaming free and wild in the world famous sanctuary at Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand as it reopened on Wednesday after four months of closure because of the monsoon. According to Deputy Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve, Dr Saket Badola, the Bijrani zone has been reopened today while the other zones will reopen on 15th of November. Jim Corbett National Park was established in 1936 to safeguard the endangered tiger. It is primarily a tiger reserve but there are around 600 species of birds and animals - out of which 586 are birds. Corbett has been divided into four safari zones, namely Dhikala Zone, Jhirna Zone, Bijrani Zone and Durga Devi Zone. Oct 15, 2014
