New Delhi, Nov 07 (ANI): Israel's former President Shimon Peres met India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to boost ties and discuss bilateral, regional and multilateral issues. Nobel laureate Peres will launch a tri-lateral dialogue on food and water security involving India, Israel and Australia. Peres, who completed his seven-year tenure as president in July this year, would participate in the World Economic Forum meet in New Delhi. India has opted to buy Israel's Spike anti-tank guided missile, a defence ministry source said on November 01, rejecting a rival US offer of Javelin missiles that Washington had lobbied hard to win. Massive fire breaks out at Bokaro market

Bokaro, Oct 26 (ANI): A fire broke out in a market in Bokaro on Sunday morning engulfing several shops and damaging goods at least worth three million ahead of Hindu festival of Chhath. The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained and also, no loss of life was reported. Grieving about the losses incurred, a shopkeeper, Prithvi Sav, said all the shops at Dhundibad market were fully stocked with items of worship ahead of Chhath. A fire fighter, Rakesh Tiwari, said at least a little support from the shopkeepers would have helped control fire much faster. It is being estimated that had the fire fighters not reached on time, fire would have damaged material worth more than rupees 100 million. India successfully test fires nuclear cruise missile 'Nirbhay'

New Delhi/ Chandipur, Oct 17 (ANI): India on Friday successfully test fired the indigenously developed nuclear capable sub-sonic cruise missile 'Nirbhay' at the Integrated Missile Test Range near Balasore in Odisha. Proving a host of technologies and bridging the critical gap in the country's arsenal, the missile was test fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur for a distance of about 1,000 km. Cruise missile 'Nirbhay' can strike targets more than 700 kms away. This was the second test firing attempt. The missile had failed in its debut attempt which was made last year. Security Expert US Rathore said that the test fire of the cruise missile 'Nirbhay' was very important for India. Cruise missile 'Nirbhay' has good loitering capability, good control and guidance and high degree of accuracy. Oct 17, 2014
