Chhattisgarh hails appointment of new Governor

Raipur, July 2 (ANI): Chhattisgarh province hailed appointment of the new Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, as he took oath of office on Wednesday. The office of the Chhattisgarh governor had fallen vacant after Shekhar Dutt tendered his resignation. Yadav said that he will fulfil his responsibilities and play the designated role to the best of his capabilities. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh was also present at the inauguration and termed the appointment as a matter of pride. It is a matter of pride for the state of Chhattisgarh that we have got an experienced and eminent leader as our new governor. Chhattisgarh Governor Shekhar Dutt resigns from office

New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): Governor of Chhattisgarh Shekhar Dutt stepped down from his office on Thursday. Earlier on Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Governor BL Joshi also gave his resignation. The NDA government after coming to power had started nudging seven Congress-appointed governors to quit. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had said earlier that all the Governors, who were appointed by the previous UPA government, should resign.
