Jaipur, Jan 16 (ANI): Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurated the CII Partnership Summit which was jointly organized by Government of India and Government of Rajasthan in Jaipur. Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje addressed the delegates during the inaugural ceremony. In her address, Raje said that the competition should be in performance and in participation and the relationship between industry and governments now needs to be synergic, each complementing the other, for that alone is the way forward. Social sector looks for higher budget allocation in skill building

New Delhi, Jan 09 (ANI): Representatives from India’s social sector sought higher budget allocation in skill building and public procurement, in pre-budget talks with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Jaitley also held pre-budget meetings with representatives from Indian industry, earlier this week. Social sector representatives hoped that the government would focus on skill building so that employment would see a rise and people could sustain their jobs. She said they also spoke on focussing on skill development for the employment of youth, especially from socially excluded communities. The representatives also gave recommendations on public procurement for which there is no legislation or policy. The budget for the fiscal year 2015-2016 will be out by the end of February. The new food joints are also offering new opportunities of employment to the residents. Silk reeling center provides employment to rural women in Tripura

Tripura, Dec 29 (ANI): This silk reeling center at Badharghat in the outskirts of Agartala produces some of the finest quality silk which is high in demand. Cocoon from various silk rearing clusters and cocoon collection centers in West Tripura are collected here for taking out silk threads. Over 40 locals, mostly women are engaged at the centre in various stages of silk production and are able to earn well besides availing facilities like health insurance and pension. With help from the Central Silk board, the government-run centre has undergone modernization with eight semi-automatic reeling machines and other facilities. In 2012, the state's first power loom silk production center was started here as well. Over the years, both the Tripura and central government have been giving a lot of priority to boost silk production by introducing a number of schemes to encourage locals to take up sericulture.
