Police arrest top ranking militant in West Bengal

Malda, April 13 (ANI): Police arrested a top-ranking militant from a village of West Bengal in the wee hours of Sunday. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Satyajit Banerjee, said police arrested Malkhan Singh alias Madhav Mondal, leader of underground Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO), from a forest area and recovered arms and ammunition from his possession. After receiving the intelligence input, a police team rushed to the spot, cordoned off the village and took him into custody. One automatic rifle, ammunition and cash were seized from the militant. Militant attack injures one policeman in J&K's Anantnag

Anantnag, April 08 (ANI): A policeman was injured in Anantnag town of Jammu and Kashmir after militants opened fire on Tuesday. After the attack, the militants ran away with his rifle. The injured was later shifted to a nearby hospital. An alert has been sounded in the area to track down the assailants. Militant hideout busted in J&K, cache of arms & ammunitions recovered

Baramulla, March 30 (ANI): Paramilitary forces on Sunday busted a militant’s hideout in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir ahead of upcoming general election. A huge cache of arms and ammunitions were recovered from the hideout during a joint operation by Rashtriya Rifles and Police in Tangmula forest of Baramulla district. Following this the security had been beefed up in the valley. The restive region has witnessed numerous militant attacks, insurgency, and infiltration attempts from across the border in the last two decades. Police arrest two Maoists responsible for landmine blast in Jharkhand

Khunti, March 27 (ANI): Police arrested two Maoists involved in a landmine blast, which injured three security officials, after a face-off in Khunti district of Jharkhand. A landmine blast near Murhu police station in Kotna village injured three officers engaged in anti-Maoist operations. The blast took place as soon as their car reached the village.
