Vyapam Scam: Shivraj Singh Chouhan files defamation against KK Mishra

New Delhi/ Bhopal, June 24 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday filed a defamation case against Congress leader KK Mishra, who has levelled charges against the Madhya Pradesh CM in the multi-crore Vyapam Scam. The recruitment scam had reportedly involved manipulation in the selection process for government jobs conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB). A Special Task Force has been constituted for an investigation into the Vyapam scam which had detained Laxmikant Sharma, a former state technical education minister, for interrogation. Vyapam Scam: MP CM hits back at rival parties, says will file defamation

Bhopal/ New Delhi, June 23 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said he is preparing to file defamation suit over allegations leveled by the opposition parties against his wife and his government pertaining to the Vyapam Scam. Earlier, Congress leader K. K. Mishra, who had leveled allegations of Union Minister Uma Bharti being involved, asked Chief Minister Chouhan to order a probe in the multi-crore Vyapam Scam and also alleged the involvement of a powerful person in this case. Another candidate dies in Mumbai police recruitment drive, BJP demands probe

Mumbai, June 18 (ANI): Another candidate died on Wednesday in the Mumbai police recruitment drive which had attracted thousands of aspirants from across the state. At least five candidates have died till now in the drive due to tough training and poor living conditions. Twenty four year old candidate, Gahininath Latpate, passed away in Mulund's Platinum hospital, where he was admitted after falling ill during training. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya questioned the carelessness behind the unfortunate deaths. The candidates said they have to put up with lack of proper lodging and facilities. It Happens: World No Tobacco Day

Andhra Pradesh, June 6 (ANI): Internationally renowned sand artist, Sudarshan Patnaik, created an anti- smoking sculptor on sand at a beach in India's eastern Odisha and rallies were organized in southern Andhra Pradesh to create an awareness regarding the horrendous effects of smoking on World No Tobacco Day. World No Tobacco Day is observed annually on May 31 by World Health Organisation (WHO). Patnaik's 5-feet high and 20-feet long sand sculpture, which was made with 7 tons of sand, depicted the harmful effects of tobacco consumption As people gathered to have a glimpse of his artistic message, Patnaik said that his main motive was to inspire smokers to quit the harmful habit. Elsewhere, in Visakhapatnam city of southern Andhra Pradesh, hundreds of people marched with placards and balloons to spread the no-tobacco message. India rallies for green cities on World Environment Day
