Australian PM Tony Abbott arrives at Presidents House, meets PM Modi

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who is on a two-day visit in India received a ceremonial reception at the President’s House in Delhi on Friday. Present at the event to receive Abbott were Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung. The Australian PM also received the guard of honour at his arrival. Later, Abbott also visited the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate to pay his respect to the martyrs. Mumbai/ New Delhi, Sep 04 (ANI): Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott on Thursday arrived in national capital Delhi while on his two-day visit to India. Abbott was received by Power Minister Piyush Goyal and other dignitaries at the airport. He is scheduled to meet India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj. Earlier, while attending an event at Cricket Club of India (CCI) in Mumbai, Abbott said that cricket brings people together. The event also saw the gracious presence of former Australian cricketers, Brett Lee and Adam Gilchrist, and former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
