Labour MP Andy Burnham warns of old style establishment stitch-up over Orgreave

The MP for Leigh, and former Shadow Home Secretary, has called on the government to investigate the so-called Battle of Orgreave. More than 70 officers and 50 strikers were injured after clashes in July 1984, during the height of the UK miners strikes. Seven people have been arrested following the violence at West Ham vs Chelseas EFL cup tie on 26 October. Riot police were forced to intervene as fighting between the home and away fans broke out, and missiles of bottles and coins were thrown.
