Mumbai, Sep 22 (ANI): After NCP core committee meet ended on Monday, party leader Praful Patel said that that there will be a last meeting tomorrow in efforts to save alliance between the NCP and Congress. Patel said that Congress’ proposal of 124 seats is totally not acceptable as the party had demanded equal number of seats. Patel also said that unlike the accusations, there are no separate agenda of the party and its just a desire to grow as a party. He also said that the party is trying to save the alliance and Tuesday’s meeting will be last such attempt in this regard. Sep 22, 2014

Mumbai, Sep 21 (ANI): Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday admitted that there is an ongoing ‘tug of war’ in alliance with the BJP and said that he is making his last efforts to save the alliance. Offering BJP the ‘last formula’ for seat sharing in the alliance, Thackeray said that Shiv Sena will contest on 151 seats, BJP will contest on 119 seats and the rest 18 seats would be given to the allies. Thackeray further said that Sena needs power to serve the people and they will get it. Mumbai, Sept 21 (ANI): Bollywood Actress Rani Mukherjee, was recently spotted flagging off the “Make way for Ambulance” campaign in, Mumbai, to sensitize people about the need to ensure an early and easy passage of these vehicles in emergency. It is the Mumbai Traffic Police’s drive to raise awareness among people about letting the ambulances ply swiftly so that they reach the hospital without any undue delay. Also present on the occasion were Police Commissioner, Rakesh Maria and Joint Commissioner of Police, BK Upadhyaya. The event was organized at Nehru Centre, Hall of Culture in Worli in Mumbai. Rani Mukherjee who was the chief guest at the function said that this campaign would make a huge difference in saving the lives of critically ill patients. India has an increasing number of vehicles plying on the roads as more and more people can now afford to buy vehicles, especially with the availability of easy loans. Man arrested with 218 turtles at railway station in Kanpur

Kanpur, Sep 21 (ANI): A man was arrested with 218 turtles packed in two sack bags at Kanpur Railway station that were being smuggled to Kolkata. Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector, Tripurari Pandey said that the man was trying to smuggle the turtles to Kolkata. The turtles recovered from the smuggler are estimated to be worth millions in the international market. Pandey also said that the turtles were primarily used for consumption or for making medicines. There is a huge demand of turtles in Southeast Asia and China. Apart from being consumed and making medicines, turtles are believed to have aphrodisiac properties as well. Kanpur is one of the crucial transit points for turtle smugglers looking to sneak them out of India via sea ports in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Sep 21, 2014
