'Rang Rasiya' all set to hit theatres after getting through censor board

Mumbai, Oct 04 (ANI) After struggling to find a place in theatres for six years due to portrayal of bold scenes between the lead actors, Bollywood film 'Rang Rasiya' is now all set to hit theatres next month. The film, which is inspired by the real life story of 19th century painter Raja Ravi Varma known for portraying women in the image of goddess on canvas, is a work of acclaimed director Ketan Mehta who had long struggled to get a green signal from Central Board of Film Certification. He further said that sensuality is the basis of human rights and global human civilization. Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has played the role of Varma, with Nandana Sen starring opposite him as his muse in the erotic love story. New Delhi, Oct 04 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Varma on his 157th birth anniversary, and urged people to visit Kranti Teerth, a memorial that celebrates Varma's life and contribution to India's freedom movement. Modi tweeted, "On his birth anniversary, I bow to Shyamji Krishna Varma. A devout patriot, he inspired several nationalists, both in India and overseas. Shyamji Krishna Varma was closely associated with India House, which was a very active hub for the nationalist movement in London." "In 2003, I had the honour to bring Shyamji Krishna Varma's ashes back to India from Switzerland. In 2010, we dedicated Kranti Teerth to the nation. Rang Rasiya's musical music launch

Mumbai, Sept 26 (ANI): Ketan Mehta's 'Rang Rasiya', starring Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen had a musical music launch in Mumbai recently. The event saw live performances by singers Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, Sunidhi Chauhan, Roop Kumar Rathod, Rajeshwari Pathak and Anwarbhai, the king of Rajasthani folk music. Based on the book Raja Ravi Varma by Marathi author Ranjit Desai, the film chronicles the life of India's famous painter Raja Ravi Varma. The film is being released after six long years because of its controversial subject. The movie also features Nandana Sen, Vipin Sharma and Paresh Rawal. Produced by Deepa Sahi and Aanand Mehendroo, Rang Rasiya will hit the theaters on November 7. Sep 26, 2014
