UNICEF report says 49% of girls in India sexually abused, Politicos react

New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): Reactions flowed in as UNICEF report said that 49% of girls in India under the age of 19 are sexually abused. BJP leader Sambit Patra said that until we don't give respect to women in our country, development is not possible. NCP leaders Tariq Anwar and Majid Memon said that the issue needs to be taken in cognizance by all concerns and we must act so that such things don't take place again. However, NCP leader Naresh Agarwal said that UNICEF should also come out with reports of other countries and not only talk of India. New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): Political leaders on Friday react as Former CAG Vinod Rai alleged that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh could have easily prevented 2G scam, coal blocks allocation scam and the Commonwealth Games scam, had he used his stamp of authority. Kolkata, Sep 11 (ANI): TMC and BJP on Thursday entered into a clash after an altercation broke out between BJP candidate Ritesh Tiwari and the election agents of TMC candidate Nayana Banerjee. BJP Chowrangi bypoll candidate Ritesh Tiwari, was also manhandled while holding a roadshow in the constituency. The incident occurred on the last day of campaigning for the Chowrangi assembly bypoll, which is scheduled for September 13. Rescue operations in JandK may bridge gap between army and people: SP

New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal, on Wednesday said that rescue operations in flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir may bridge the gap between army and people. Rising death toll in Kashmir and worst floods in 60 years submerged villages and destroyed crops as the number of dead hit 420 and thousands remained trapped on rooftops. The Indian air force, army and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are carrying out extensive rescue operations in the state. Soldiers rescued families using boats or airlifted them from rooftops by helicopter after the river Jhelum burst its banks in Srinagar, but many more remained stranded.
