INLD chief O P Chautala surrenders at Tihar Jail

New Delhi, Oct 12 (ANI): INLD chief and Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala surrendered before the Tihar Jail authorities as per the Delhi High Court's orders. Before surrendering at the Tihar Jail, Chautala asked his party workers to work peacefully to make the INLD emerge victorious in the upcoming Haryana assembly elections. Chautala had been convicted and sentenced to 10 years jail term in the JBT teachers recruitment scam case. He had been granted bail on medical grounds. The CBI had earlier moved the Delhi High Court seeking cancellation of interim bail granted to Chautala in the case, saying he had violated bail conditions. Oct 12, 2014

New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): Following the order of events in INLD Chief Om Prakash Chautala's case, he said on Saturday that if the Court asks him to surrender today he will do so. Chautala said that he has not been given any directions by the Court not to attend or address any public gathering and blamed the BJP for pressurizing CBI to frame him. Chautala said that the BJP is on the verge of loosing elections in Haryana due to which it is trying to defame him. He added that INLD is sure to get 2-3rd majority in the state so it does not need support from any other political party. The INLD Chief was jailed in the JBT teachers' recruitment scam and is out on bail on grounds of bad health, after which he violated the bail norms by addressing public meetings. Oct 11, 2014

Delhi HC directs INLD Chief O P Chautala to surrender by tomorrow

New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): Delhi High Court on Friday directed Haryana's Former Chief Minister and INLD Chief O P Chautala to surrender before jail authorities by Saturday. The court also banned him from addressing any public meeting. The high court's order came after a CBI plea sought immediate cancellation of interim bail which was given to Chautala. The CBI informed the court that Chautala, who had got bail on medical grounds, was busy campaigning for the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana.
