New Delhi, Sep 09 (ANI): Minister of Civil Aviation, Ashok Gajapathi Raju, on Tuesday said that the Central Government is trying its best to control effects of flood in Jammu and Kashmir. Raju said that Air India has put two special flights in Srinagar to speed up rescue work in the state. Trivandrum, Sep 05 (ANI): Former chief justice of India P Sathasivam on Friday took oath as the governor of Kerala at the Raj Bhavan in Trivandrum. Sathasivam was administered oath by acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court Ashok Bhushan. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, his cabinet colleagues and top officials were also present on the occasion. Sathasivam had arrived here Thursday evening to take oath as the new governor of Kerala. New Delhi, August 19 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 29.71 points up to stand at 26,420.67. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 23.25 points up to stand at 7,897.50. TTK Prestige and Berger Paints were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 9.16% and 9.13% along with Muthoot Finance and Ashok Leyland with an increase of 9.11% and 7.39% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Financial Tech and Bhushan Steel with a decrease of 4.99% and 4.98% along with Prestige Estates and Engineers India with a decrease of 3.70% and 3.13% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 374.15 points at 16,981.84 while the banking sector is up 101.46 points at 17,759.36 and the reality sector is up 29.93 points at 1,863.56. New Delhi, Aug 13 (ANI): In the paid news case the Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the Delhi High Court to decide on the disqualification of Ashok Chavan in the next 15 days. The Delhi High Court had earlier stayed an Election Commission showcause notice to the former Maharashtra Chief Minister in July. Supporter of PM suffers due to cease of pension by UP government

Varanasi, Aug 10 (ANI): A supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Virbhadra Nishad complained of non-payment of pension to old people in Uttar Pradesh. The government of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh has stopped provision of pension to the old people after BJP won in the state. Virbhadra Nishad, a boatman, was one of the people who proposed Modi's nomination from temple town Varanasi for the general elections. He was also a constant supporter of the nationalist leader during the elections. However, Nishad complained that the state government of Samajwadi Party has ceased to pay due amount of pension despite him suffering from critical health conditions.
