New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): The Embassy of Sweden and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Sunday (October 26) jointly unveiled The Nobel Memorial Wall, displaying the portraits of Indian Nobel laureates in the national capital. At the moment, photographs and a brief history of physicist CV Raman, bio-chemist Har Gobind Khorana, Albanian Roman Catholic nun Mother Teresa, Bengali poet and Nobel Literature Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore and Nobel economics laureate Amartya Sen adorn the wall. Asian Games medalists felicitated

New Delhi/ Manipur, Oct 23 (ANI): The medal winners of the recently-concluded 17th Asian Games met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. The Prime Minister congratulated the sportspersons and expressed hope that they will continue bringing laurels for the country. The medal winners were also felicitated by the Sports Ministry at an event in the Capital. Union sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and other MPs were present at the event. While the gold medal winners were awarded Rs.20 lakh each, the silver and bronze medalists got Rs 10 and 6 lakh each respectively. The recently concluded Asian Games held in Incheon in South Korea saw India finish at the eighth position in the medal's tally. At a separate felicitation programme boxer MC Mary Kom was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of India's Incheon Asian Games campaign. The pugilist was awarded a cash prize of Rs.10 lakh by the organizers. The Manipur government also felicitated the Asian games medal winners and participants from the state at an event at the Khuman Lampak sports complex. Oct 23, 2014

Dharamsala, Oct 19 (ANI): Tibetan spiritual leader, his holiness the Dalai Lama said that Nobel peace prize to India and Pakistan can help resolve border conflict between the two neighbours. Pakistani teenager Malala Yousafzai, shot in the head by the Taliban two years ago for advocating girls' right to education, and Indian children's right advocate Kailash Satyarthi won the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize on October 10. Expressing his feeling to both awardees, Dalai Lama said the decision to award the Peace Prize to an Indian man and a Pakistani woman together emphasizes that only as human brothers and sisters will we create a more peaceful, happier world. Dalai Lama commended both Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi for working to support children and said that children's future will only be secured if it is ensured that they receive full and equal education.
