No political alliances to seek power: PDP

Srinagar, March 22 (ANI): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), chief Mehbooba Mufti Sayeed, said that forming an alliance with political parties for power is not on their agenda ahead of the forthcoming polls and they would rather persuade them to come up with a resolution on the Kashmir issue. While addressing media persons in Srinagar, she said that power was not the main agenda for her party in the upcoming polls. Peoples Democratic Party has been blaming the government led by Omar Abdullah's National Conference (NC) party for failing to resolve the problems in the state and increasing tensions in the region. PDP has accused NC of just pleasing their ally, the ruling Congress at the Centre.

Omars remark on AFSPA sparks debate among politicos

Srinagar, Jammu, Feb 24 (ANI): J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s statement that he would work for the revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) that gives security forces sweeping powers to search arrest or shoot people became a point of debate and garnered criticism among political leaders. Commenting on the same, Awami Ittihaad Party President Engineer Rashid, on Monday said that the chief is trying to fool people with these false statements. BJP leader, Jugal Kishore Sharma, said the statement is political in nature as the state is still one of the militarized zones of the country. Meanwhile, National Panthers Party leader, Harsh Dev Singh, said that they have always been making the same statement since many years and it is not something new what Abdullah has announced. Militancy down by 70 % in Kashmir: Omar
