J&K observes 3 day shutdown on death anniversary of Afzal Guru

Srinagar, Feb 10 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir faced a three day curfew and complete shutdown, to mark the first death anniversaries of Parliament attack convict Muhammad Afzal Guru, who was hanged in Tihar Jail. The shutdown entered its second day on Monday with residents facing troubles in going to their respective offices as the streets wore a deserted look and shops were locked as well. Security personnel were seen manning the streets and keep a tight vigil to foil any attempt of protest in the valley. All mobile internet connections have been blocked except BSNL broadband. Recently, Ramdev had vowed to campaign for the BJP’s PM Candidate Narendra Modi so that he gets a clear majority in the upcoming 2014 general elections. Ramdev also claimed that Congress would wind up with only 50 seats in the upcoming general elections. Whereas, Jharkhand Congress leader BK Hariprasad refused to comment on Ramdev’s statement. Ramdev urges Muslims to vote for Narendra Modi in 2014 polls

Hyderabad, Jan 26 (ANI): Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Sunday urged Muslims to vote for BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi in the upcoming 2014 general elections. Modi is accused to have not acted and encouraged the 2002 communal violence in Gujarat which claimed more than 1000 lives, mostly Muslims.
