Tamil Nadu, Dec 12 (ANI): A three-day exhibition on contemporary work displaying a vast range of artistic practice left visitors spellbound in Tamil Nadu. The exhibition is unique as it displays more than 100 exhibits of nearly 60 talents from across the country. The organiser of the exhibition, Geetha Mehra, said that the exhibition covers a wide range of art works. The exhibition displays mesmerising work on various objects including paper, wood, bronze, plastics, broken glass and mud. The work of Valay Shinde, in particular was widely appreciated. Shinde’s work was a tribute to those people who help society function smoothly but receive no recognition. Visitors flocking to the exhibition were amazed at the range of the different mediums on display. The three- day exhibition culminates on December 08. Dec 12, 2014

Following close behind, ‘Boyhood’, ‘The Imitation Game’ & ‘The Theory of Everything’ with three nominations each. Jennifer Aniston & Reese Witherspoon each received recognition along with Benedict Cumberbatch who was a double nominee for TV’s ‘Sherlock: His Last Vow’ and for ‘The Imitation Game’. On the small screen, ‘Modern Family’ garnered four nods with ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Homeland’ & ‘House of Cards’ following with three apiece. The awards will be handed out January 25th. Middle Earth has come to Hollywood with the premiere of ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’, the final chapter in the saga. Director Peter Jackson led his cast down the darken, red carpet, which included stars Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Evangeline Lilly, Andy Serkis, Lee Pace & Richard Armitage. Eco friendly products mesmerize visitors at Kerala Bamboo Fest in Kochi

Kochi, Dec 07 (ANI): Visitors made a beeline towards the makeshift tents of the 11th edition of the annual 'Kerala Bamboo Fest' which displayed artisans' innovativeness while propagating the use of the 'green wood' in Kochi. Craftsmen from various Indian states arrived in the five-day bamboo festival to propagate the use of bamboo and bamboo-made products in order to spread awareness regarding the use of eco friendly products in daily life. Managing Director of Kerala State Bamboo Co-operation, T Sukumaran Nair, said that the fest aims to make eco-friendly things and prevent deforestation. The annual event is being organised by the Kerala State Bamboo Mission. Massive fire breaks out at wood factory in New Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 29 (ANI): A massive fire broke out in a wood factory in New Delhi on Saturday morning. The Delhi Fire Department pressed 30 fire tenders in the service, which brought the raging inferno under control. No casualty has been reported so far and cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Fire safety regulations are lax, rarely implemented and not periodically reviewed in most places across India, which results in the breaking of major fire, resulting in loss of life and material.
