BCCI announces cricket team for World Cup 2015, Yuvraj not in

Mumbai, Jan 06 (ANI): The BCCI on Tuesday announced the team for 2015 World Cup which is going to begin next month. BCCI Secretary Sanjay Patel announced the team of 15 players which include- MS Dhoni as Captain and wicket keeper, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Stuart Binny, Umesh Yadav. Cricketer Yuvraj Singh was not short listed in the team. The BCCI selectors' team held a meeting earlier in the day to decide upon the team. Meanwhile, Former cricketer Syed Kirmani said that it was a well balanced team, adding that Yuvraj Singh could have been included in the team. Jan 6, 2015

Abhishek Bachchan inaugurates basketball court at a school

Mumbai, Jan 5 (ANI): Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan recently inaugurated a basketball court at a school in India's showbiz capital Mumbai stressing on the need to make sports part of educational curriculum. He has been championing the importance of sports ever since he co-owned a football team, Chennaiyin FC, and a western Jaipur city based pro-league kabbadi team, 'Jaipur Pink Panthers', which also won the inaugural tournament. He talked about his love for basketball which he played as a former student of the same school and said that sports could be a viable career option. He also urged the schools across the country to improve sports infrastructure to nurture children's sports skills. He also displayed his basketball skills as he hit the court with the students.
