Oslo, Dec 10 (ANI): Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistan's education activist Malala Yousafzai received the Nobel Peace Prize for 2014 at a ceremony held in Norway on Wednesday for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education. This is the first time that an Indian and a Pakistani have jointly received the Nobel Peace Prize. Speaking at the ceremony, Satyarthi said that he was accepting the award on behalf of the martyrs and activists. Satyarthi, who was accompanied by his family members, also recalled his experience with the unprivileged people and said there is no greater violence than to deny the dreams of children. Vidisha/ New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): The overjoyed members of Indian Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi's non-government organisation Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) and his family members expressed their happiness on the day he will be receiving the award in Norway. The members of BBA across India came to participate in the celebrations in New Delhi. The children of the organisation were seen celebrating for their saviour on the streets of the city. India's Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai, who won this year's Nobel Peace Prize for their fight against the oppression of children and their right to education, will be conferred the prestigious award at a ceremony in Oslo on Wednesday. In a press conference in Oslo on Tuesday, the joint winners paid tribute to the millions of children who have been deprived of their childhood due to slavery, abuse, trafficking and prostitution. New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): India's Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai will be formally conferred with the Nobel Peace Prize on Wednesday. They would receive the award at a ceremony in Oslo for their fight against the oppression of children and their right to education. Satyarthi, who gave up a career as an electrical engineer in 1980 to campaign against child labour, has headed various forms of peaceful protest. His non-government organization, Bachpan Bachao Andolan has been credited with freeing more than 80,000 child labourers in India over 30 years.
