Capuchin monkeys create tools like hominins, a new study has shown

A new study has shown that wild-bearded capuchins in Brazil smash rocks which produces flakes with he same characteristics as those specifically made by hominins throughout history. This finding could now make it more difficult to distinguish between man-made tools and flakes created unintentionally. The scientists observed and filmed the monkeys in their natural habitat, the Serra da Capivara National Park in Brazil. After the animals left, they collected fragmented stones which had been used just before. Furthermore, they conducted surface surveys and archaeological sites in the same area. Oct 19, 2016

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is being kept up to date about the Internet by a man shouting through a speaker outside of the Ecuador embassy in London. Assange found his Internet access temporarily restricted after Ecuador didnt like WikiLeaks documents impacting the US election. Nine orphaned sea lion pups released into the wild off Peru

Nine sea lion cubs have been released into the wild in Peru. The cubs had lost their mothers after local fishermen killed more than 70 adult South American female sea lions.They subsequently left 50 orphaned sea lion babies to fend for themselves. Peruvian NGO ORCA managed to rescue 30 of them.The number of sea lions have dwindled due to overfishing, the use of nets and dynamite. Oct 15, 2016
