BSF jawan opens fire at J and K CM Omar Abdullah_s residence, arrested

Srinagar, Nov 17 (ANI): A BSF trooper, posted outside Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah_s residence on Monday accidentally opened fire from his automatic rifle, police said. According to reports, the BSF trooper was immediately detained and disarmed after being identified and is being questioned for further information. Tension spread in the high-security Gupkar road area as people believed that the attack had taken place at the chief minister_s residence. Meanwhile, Abdullah posted a tweet expressing full faith in his security force despite the incident. He tweeted saying, _Not withstanding today_s incident with the BSF jawan stationed at my residence in Srinagar today I have full confidence in my security team._ Nov 17, 2014

Paramilitary Assam Rifles gun down four militants in Assam

Dima Hasao, Nov 06 (ANI): Four militants were killed in two separate encounters with paramilitary Assam Rifles and the police in Dima Hasao district of Assam on Thursday. Huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the militants. According to reports, the Assam Rifles had launched an operation near Robi Basti village, and indulged in a gun battle in which three militants were killed. Two AK series rifles, 73 rounds of ammunition and other war-like stores were recovered from the militants. The militants belonged to National Socialist Council of Nagalim - Isak- Muivah (NSCN-IM) rebel group. Meanwhile, another operation was conducted near Kopilo village, a day before, on the junction of Assam, Nagaland and Manipur, an area frequented by NSCN (IM) insurgents for their transit into the state, said sources. Grenades hurled at CRPF camp in JandK

Sopore, Nov 04 (ANI): Suspected militants hurled grenades at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp at Sopore in Baramulla Distric of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Witnesses said people ran for cover after the explosive was hurled. However, one rifle grenade did not explode and the other missed the target. The rifle was later on defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad. Soon after the incident took place, forces, including police counter insurgency Special Operation Group and units of army, cordoned off the area and conducted searches to nab the culprits.
