Aviation minister doesnt rule out privatisation for Air India

New Delhi, Nov 10 (ANI): Union Civil Aviation Minister, Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati, does not deny rumours of privatisation of national carrier, Air India, which has been struggling to stay in the air in the past few years. At a news conference in New Delhi on Monday (November 10), Pusapati said the future of the national carrier, which is dependent on taxpayer cash, was a matter of great concern for the country and hinted that suggestions for its privatisation were being considered. BSF guns down smugglers, recovers 22 kilograms of heroin in Punjab

Amritsar, Nov 03 (ANI): India's paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) troopers gunned down smugglers and recovered 22 kilograms of heroin worth 1.1 billion rupees along the Indo-Pak border in Punjab. Giving details of the incident, BSF Inspector General Ashok Kumar said that one smuggler was shot dead while two of his accomplices were injured and 22 kg of heroin was seized from them at Dera Baba Nanak sector in Gurdaspur district. He added that the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence inputs, following which the patrolling party of 38 Battalion in Gurdaspur observed some suspicious movement in the area of Bohar Wadala border outpost. The patrolling party opened fire in retaliation as the smugglers, who were trying to cross over to the Pakistan side, challenged them. Three smugglers Tasveer Singh, Balwinder Singh and Fateh Singh , all residents of Kalanaur town in Haryana, received injuries. Nov 3, 2014

Annual Pushkar fair attracts tourists in Rajasthan

Pushkar, Nov 03 (ANI): Tourists from across the world flocked the annual Pushkar fair in Rajasthan. The week-long fair, which began on Friday displayed several art and craft stalls that attracted scores of tourists. People enjoyed folk dances and performance by caparisoned camels. People took camel rides and participated in events like cattle exhibitions, camel show along with other games. A local, Ashok Pank said that the festival is organised by Department of Tourism every year and gives a fillip to the industry. The Pushkar town was transformed into fair ground with rows of makeshift tents selling mouth-savouring delicacies.
