Around 100 affected in Maharashtra after inhaling toxic gas

Ulhasnagar, Nov 29 (ANI): Around 100 people were affected in Ulhasnagar on Saturday after inhaling toxic gas formed due to the release of a chemical component in a nearby river. The people living in areas near the river complained of uneasiness and breathing problems and were rushed to different hospitals. Central Hospital Dean Dr Ashok Nadpurkar said that more than 80 people have come for treatment so far but only nine have been admitted. The incident occurred after a tanker carrying waste chemical components dumped its contents in the Ulhas River. Police are investigating the case as to whose carelessness led to the incident. Media persons condemn attack by police at Rampal's hermitage

New Delhi/Hisar, Nov 19 (ANI): Media persons condemned the assault on them on Wednesday after some media persons were attacked by police during clashes with the Rampal's supporters on Tuesday. The incident occurred after followers of Rampal opened fire at police personnel standing on guard outside the hermitage, thus forcing police to resort to baton charge and firing, leaving many injured and two police personnel getting shot. Journalist Prashant Gupta said that the attack on media persons have scared the camerapersons and reporters. Mumbai, Nov 19 (ANI): The Bombay High Court on Wednesday rejected the CBI plea seeking to delete the name of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan from the list of accused in the Adarsh Society Scam case. Justice ML Tahiliyani gave the ruling in the CBI revision application after its earlier plea was rejected by a Special CBI court in January. BAYER CROPSCIENCE LTD. and AIA ENGINEERING LTD were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 10.35% and 7.61% along with MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA FINANCIAL SERVICES and ASHOK LEYLAND LTD with an increase of 7.57% and 7.37% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include HCC and CADILA HEALTHCARE LTD with a decrease of 4.49% and 4.26% along with IOC and IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd. with a decrease of 4.00% and 3.87% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 217.16 points at 18,617.56 while the banking sector is up 223.20 points at 20,117.78 and the reality sector is down 2.52 points at 1,654.92.
