Fans ecstatic as India beats South Africa at World Cup after three consecutive losses

New Delhi/Mumbai/Siliguri/Jammu/Moradabad, Feb 23 (ANI): A frenzy gripped India as cricket fans across the country celebrated the team’s first win against South Africa at the World Cup after three previous losses. India announced themselves as genuine contenders to defend their World Cup title by humbling South Africa's vaunted pace attack before bowling out the Proteas for an emphatic 130-run victory at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal termed the victory of men in blue as historic and congratulated Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his efficient captaincy. Shikhar Dhawan’s father, Mahendra Pal Dhawan, said he hoped his son would take the team forward the same way in the coming matches. Jammu/ Mumbai, Feb 22 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated the Indian cricket team for their splendid victory over South Africa in the World Cup match at Melbourne. The Prime Minister took to twitter to convey his greetings and stated that the team has made the nation proud. "Great performance. Well played. Congrats Team India. You make us proud yet again," he tweeted. President Pranab Mukherjee also congratulated the Indian cricket team on their victory. "Congratulations on your second victory in ICC World Cup 2015; the first ever win against S.Africa in World Cup matches," President Mukherjee tweeted soon after the team's victory. Meanwhile, BSF jawans in Jammu district also celebrated the spectacular win as they danced and rejoiced with each other. Regional RPI protests demanding arrest of Govind Pansare's killers

Mumbai, Feb 22 (ANI): Activists of the regional Republican Party of India (RPI) held a protest march in Mumbai city on Sunday demanding arrest of the killers of veteran Communist leader Govind Pansare. Senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Govind Pansare died on Friday, four days after he was shot at by unidentified assailants. The protesters took to the streets shouting slogans against the state government for failing to arrest the culprits. Police rounded up several activists and RPI leader before they were released. Kolhapur police has announced a cash reward of rupees 500,000 to any person providing information about the murderers of slain leader. The film features newbie’s, including Suzanna Mukherjee, Karan Mehra, Gunjan Malhotra and Sidhant Gupta. 'Badmashiyaan' chronicles the life of a girl, portrayed by Mukherjee, whose dream is to marry a rich man and how every time she dates a new guy only to find out that he is actually not rich. Mehra, Gupta and Hashmi portray characters of men who fall in love with Mukherjee's character, only to be ditched later as they are not rich enough.
