BSP leader defends Paris terror attack, IPS Officer announces cash reward to team which arrests him

Lucknow, Jan 11 (ANI): BSP leader Haji Yakub Qureshi has justified Paris terror attacks saying that whoever shows disrespect to the Prophet will invite death. After this, UP police has announced cash reward to the team which arrests Qureshi as his remark was against humanity. IPS Officer Amitabh Thakur said that he will be giving personal cash reward of Rs 20,000 to the police team which arrests Qureshi as his statements were against humanity. According to some media reports, Qureshi had also announced a reward of Rs 51 crore to the killers of the Paris journalists. He, however, later denied those reports. Jan 11, 2015

Security arrangement in place in Bodh Gaya, says Bihar DGP

Bodh Gaya, Dec 28 (ANI): Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar, PK Thakur visited holy town Bodh Gaya to monitor security measures. Security has been tightened at holy Buddhist shrine Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya after the recent Taliban attack in a school in Peshawar. The DGP took stock of the situation in and around the temple and expressed satisfaction with the security. The holy shrine was last year in July hit by a series of bomb blasts that were described as “terror” attacks by the government. Two people were injured. The Mahabodhi Temple complex is the place where the Buddha is believed to have attained enlightenment. Buddhist scriptures describe Bodh Gaya as the "Navel of the Earth", where pilgrims and tourists from Sri Lanka, China, Japan and the entire of southeastern Asia throng to this holiest of Buddhist shrines every year. Lord Raghunath's 17th century idol worth crores stolen from Kullu temple

Kullu, Dec 10 (ANI): A 17th century idol of Lord Raghunath, worth crores of rupees was stolen from a temple located on the premises of Kullu Palace in Kullu town's busy Sultanpur locality. It was in wee hours that temple priests Pappu and Hemraj noticed the missing idol and immediately informed Dhanvender Singh, son of Maheshwar Singh-- who is the principal guardian of the deity. The idol made of pure gold, which measured a little more than three inches, was removed from the shrine on the intervening night of December 08 and December 09. Burglars also took away the idols of Lord Ganesha, Hanuman, Narsangh and Salig Ram from the temple along with some silver and gold ornaments.
