PM Modi took views of economists to boost growth, says Jaitley

New Delhi, Feb 06 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday while speaking about the NITI Aayog's maiden meet said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed economists and then asked for their suggestions to boost the investment growth. Jaitley further said that the suggestions related to the high growth and financing of infrastructure. The economists present at the interaction were Vijay Kelkar, Nitin Desai, Bimal Jalan, Rajiv Lall, R. Vaidyanathan, Subir Gokarn, Parthasarathi Shome, P Balakrishnan, Rajiv Kumar, Ashok Gulati, Mukesh Butani and G.N. Bajpai. Rajasthan Home Minister tests positive for swine flu

Udaipur, Feb 03 (ANI): Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria tested positive for swine flu and is recuperating in his residence. On Sunday evening, Gulab Chand Kataria complained of cold, cough, bad throat, fever. The next day he was tested for the H1N1 virus and by evening it was known that the test report was positive. According to reports, ten more people succumbed to swine flu in Rajasthan counting the death toll to 49 this year. Major Mukund Varadarajan, Naik Neeraj Kumar Singh posthumously awarded Ashok Chakra

New Delhi, Jan 26 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee presented the prestigious Ashok Chakra award to the families of Major Mukund Varadarajan and Naik Neeraj Kumar Singh on the 66th Republic Day here on Monday. The Republic Day celebrations started with the unfurling of the national flag by the President. Thereafter, the national anthem was played and President Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Barack Obama and Vice President Hamid Ansari and other dignitaries paid respect to the tri-coloured flag. The Ashok Chakra award, which was conferred to Major Mukund Varadarajan and Naik Neeraj Kumar Singh posthumously, is given for the 'most conspicuous bravery or some daring or pre-eminent valour or self-sacrifice' other than in the face of the enemy. New Delhi, Jan 9 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 183.67 points up to stand at 27,458.38. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 49.90 points up to stand at 8,284.50. VIDEOCON INDUSTRIES LTD and PIPAVAVDOC were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 19.99% and 7.69% along with Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd. and HINDUSTAN UNILEVER LTD with an increase of 5.96% and 5.94% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include PMCFIN and ASHOK LEYLAND LTD with a decrease of 4.98% and 3.85% along with NTPC and DLF with a decrease of 3.31% and 3.26% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 6.34 points at 18,835.27 while the banking sector is down 67.25 points at 21,346.24 and the reality sector is down 21.55 points at 1,531.95.
