The holding of the rally in Kanpur, which is widely regarded as a bastion of the Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS), is being projected as a crucial strategic move to snare as many Lok Sabha seats as possible out of the total 80 seats that are up for grabs in Uttar Pradesh during next year's general election. Around 25 artisans from different tribes and communities of Manipur are participating in a ten-day long workshop in Imphal. In Manipur, different tribes wear distinct headgears to highlight their identity. The workshop is being held with an aim to revive and promote traditional headgears and dresses. Elders from different tribes taught the youth how to make the headgear. Ranchi, Oct 03 (ANI): A special CBI court will on Thursday pronounce the quantum of punishment on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav held guilty in a fodder scam case. Arguments on the quantum of punishment began around 11.30 pm. The sentence will be pronounced through videoconferencing at around 2.30 pm. Yadav is currently lodged in Ranchi's Birsa Munda Central Jail. Manipur, Sep 29 (ANI): On September 13, a bomb exploded inside a temporary workers' shed at Nagamapal killing at least 9 people. Around 12 others were seriously injured. The workers hailing from Assam were resting after dinner when the bomb went off, killing 5 of them on the spot. The security forces rushed to the blast site and took the injured to RIMS. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. In another incident on the same day, an IED exploded near the Khurai Chairenthongkhong waiting shed, injuring an Assam Rifles personnel and an auto rickshaw driver.
