Venezuelas freed opposition politician Lopez makes public appearance under house arrest

Venezuelas best-known jailed opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez has been granted house arrest after three years in prison. The 46-year-old appeared over joyous, waving the Venezuelan flag at his home. Crowds of supporters gathered outside the walled-in complex to cheer him on. Serving a 14-year sentence, Lopez would make a popular opposition presidential candidate.
