BSE closes points 183.67 up on Jan 9

New Delhi, Jan 9 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 183.67 points up to stand at 27,458.38. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 49.90 points up to stand at 8,284.50. VIDEOCON INDUSTRIES LTD and PIPAVAVDOC were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 19.99% and 7.69% along with Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd. and HINDUSTAN UNILEVER LTD with an increase of 5.96% and 5.94% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include PMCFIN and ASHOK LEYLAND LTD with a decrease of 4.98% and 3.85% along with NTPC and DLF with a decrease of 3.31% and 3.26% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 6.34 points at 18,835.27 while the banking sector is down 67.25 points at 21,346.24 and the reality sector is down 21.55 points at 1,531.95. Always knew it was case of murder: Sunanda Pushkar's Cousin demanding justice

Jammu, Jan 06 (ANI): After Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi confirmed that Sunanda Pushkar's death was not natural and that she was poisoned, he cousin Ashok Kumar said that they always knew that it was a case of murder. He said that the delay in the case was because Congress government never allowed a fair probe to be carried out in the case. Kumar said that Sunanda was a lively person and could not have committed suicide and that truth will come out gradually with time. He also demanded justice for his sister. Jan 6, 2015

New Delhi, Jan 5 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 45.58 points down to stand at 27,842.32. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 17.05 points down to stand at 8,378.40. ASHOK LEYLAND LTD. and GSPL were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 7.96% and 7.75% along with VA TECH WABAG LTD. and UNITECH with an increase of 5.67% and 4.60% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include IRB and PERSISTENT SYSTEMS LTD. with a decrease of 6.96% and 6.52% along with RattanIndia Power Limited and PMCFIN with a decrease of 4.97% and 4.95% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 213.82 points at 19,050.97 while the banking sector is down 54.98 points at 21,775.12 and the reality sector is up 3.51 points at 1,575.41. Reactions pour in after IIT-Delhi Director resigns alleging pressure from the government

New Delhi, Dec 28 (ANI): Reactions poured in on Sunday after Director of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD) Raghunath K. Shevgaonkar resigned two years before the completion of his term. According to the media reports, the resignation came due to tremendous pressure from the ministry, which wanted to lend IIT ground to cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for opening a cricket academy. IIT Alumni Association Secretary CK Jain said that it is very unfortunate that government is trying to take IIT under it. IIT Alumni Association former President Subodh Jindal requested the government to take the director’s resignation back.
