It Happens: Dance Festival

Odissi, June 6, (ANI): Performers explored the subtle techniques of Odissi, the oldest surviving classical Indian dance form, in a day-long dance festival in eastern city of Bhubaneswar. The dancers used unique techniques propagated by Late Guru Debaprasad Das and thrilled the audience with the majestic movements of the ancient art form. Mesmerised by the aura of Odissi dance performance on the stage, dancers said it is a unique classical art form which can be understood only by live performance. The festival touted 'Debasmruti' was organised by a Bhubaneswar-based dance institution called Tridhara. The evening was made lively by an enthralling performance by Guru Rewben Mashangva, the father of Naga folk blues, from Manipur. Meem Afzal said that this is a matter of investigation which should be strictly done. New Delhi, June 01 (ANI): Congress leaders on Sunday reacted over the hike of diesel prices by the new BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Diesel prices have been hiked by 50 paisa per litre all over the country which will be effective from Sunday midnight. Meem Afzal ironically referred to the promise of 'good days' by BJP government pointing out that BJP is acting just the opposite of what it used to say. Meanwhile, Rashid Alvi stated that BJP always used to make a hue and cry over prices of petrol and diesel and they themselves have hiked it within 5 days of governance.
