USS Independence: World War II aircraft carrier wreck explored for the first time ever

USS Independence aircraft carrier was purposely sunk off the cost of San Francisco in 1951, and now scientists have been down to explore the haunting shell of one of WWIIs leading light aircraft carriers. The dive was part of an expedition to explore the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary and Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary by the EV Nautilus in partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Naval Historical Foundation. North Korea launches submarine ballistic missile into Japanese waters

North Korea, who are banned from firing ballistic missiles by the UN, launched the missile from a submarine in the Sea of Japan off Sinpo, South Hamgyong Province. The launch comes after threats which have intensified due to South Korea and the US beginning joint military exercises in the region. Turkey: Mourners chant Murderer Erdogan at Gaziantep bomb victims funerals

Mourners at a funeral for victims of the Gaziantep bombing attack chanted Murderer Erdogan, referring to Turkeys President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
